Many organisations have a wealth of information held in a wide variety of documents, images, spreadsheets. It is often difficult to collate this information into an easily accessible environment enabling users to access the data when necessary. Imagine being able to access all the site survey reports for a particular development. Or view the time series photographs of tree surgery. By attaching the various documents to an object on a map/drawing, any number of written or scanned reports, survey drawings, word processed documents, photographs etc can be displayed by way of a simple report.
Eye-DOCS presents the relevant documents to the user enabling efficient recall of information and better informed decisions.
Workshop Description
This workshop is designed to introduce you to the Eye-DOCS application and to teach you how to use Autodesk MapGuide technology for document archive, management and retrieval purposes. We will also explain how to integrate many common file formats including DWG, DWF, MS Office files and digital media etc.
Objectives
The objective of the Workshop is to provide you with the skills to understand how to attach documents and photographs to existing map objects and to geo-code your address database.
All delegates will receive a sample Autodesk MapGuide data package used during the workshop. The package contains building (polygon), road (line) and tree (point) data layers, geographically linked to the sample document database and web pages (ie. reports). Delegates will also receive a discount voucher for the Eye-DOCS application (Terms and conditions apply)
