AIT Spatial Ltd Demonstration Site Instructions

This demo site which gives an example of how your maps can be displayed digitally using Autodesk MapGuide and the different applications available to use with them.

Over the coming months we will be adding additional data sets and functionality to demonstrate the power and flexibility offered by Autodesk MapGuide.

Terms and Conditions:

After clicking on the Sign In button you are presented with the Terms & Conditions for the use of the site. Click the "I Accept" if you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions on using the site.

Zoom Control:

Once you have entered the site feel free to zoom in and out using the roller on your mouse or the icon in the top right hand corner of the map.

Layers to View:

You can also view the different layers individually or add new layers by ticking and un-ticking them.

View Detail:

To view the details of areas of the map simply click on them and they will appear in the bottom left-hand box.

Search Function:

Properties, roads etc. and their details can also be looked up by searching for them using the three look-up icons in the tool bar at the top of the map. There are more details on how to search under Gazetteer or Look-up Search and Flexible Search.

The Gazetteer Search engine is sensitive to certain words e.g. ROAD which will provide you a list of all the possible options for that search. Please note that for this type of search, search words must be in upper case.

The Flexible Search however is a more powerful way to search the objects in the map. Using the flexible search you could search for all terrier parcels over 50,000 sq. metres or all terrier parcels where the Description contains the word railway for example.

Both of these options would be available to you for your own terrier site.

Photographs:

Photographs can also be incorporated into the map. To view these switch on the Site Photos layer by ticking the box next to the camera icon the hover your mouse over the centre of one of the camera icons that will appear in the map and press Ctrl and left click to view the image.

Please ensure that you have zoomed in on the map so the view scale is less than 1:20000. The view scale is displayed at the bottom of the map e.g. 1:45957. the actual view will depend on your screen size.

Attached Documents

With the digital map at the core of the demo site, it is possible to add a wide range of various documents such as drawings, spreadsheets and scanned images - for example rental agreements or work orders can be added to any element on the map. The properties layer has a number of documents attached.

You may also be interested to know that all the images, logos, text and colour schemes on the login page or in the site can be changed to suit your company's requirements.
